The summer school will take place at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science (MEL) of Xiamen University, Xiamen, China.

背景与宗旨/Background and Objectives

本次暑期学校及博士生论坛将以研究生、博士后及青年科学家为主，以“海洋与海底地质-化学-生物过程及交叉科学的研究前沿”为主题，采用特邀主题报告、学术报告与集中讨论相结合、特邀资深专家点评、经验分享等形式，旨在为培养高水平的跨学科海洋科技人才，加速中国在海洋及深海科学和技术领域的突破性发展。

The themes of the summer school and the PhD student forum focus on multidisciplinary research of geo-bio-chemical interactions in the ocean and at the seafloor. The summer school will host thematic lectures by leading scientists, presentations by young researchers and students, and a series of activities to stimulate discussions between researchers and students. The goals are to discuss cutting-edge research subjects, to encourage and facilitate young scientstis and students to conduct interdisciplinary research, and to promote ocean science and technology development in China.

暑期学校面向国内外招生，欢迎相关高校、研究所从事海洋科学研究的硕士生、博士生、博士后以及青年学者参加。请申请者访问网页（http://mel.xmu.edu.cn/summerschool）进行申请。为保证暑期学校及博士生论坛的充分交流，参会学员将限制在150人以内。

Graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and young scientists who are interested in ocean sciences are welcome to attend the summer school. To ensure effective interactions, the number of participants will be limited to 150. Please visit our website to apply online.  

博士生学术论坛为期一天，敬请欲参加学术论坛的博士研究生提交论文摘要。

PhD students who intend to attend the PhD Student Forum are required to submit abstracts online.

费用及奖励/Fees and Awards

对入选的所有正式学员免收学费、免费提供讲义及课堂教材

No registration fee is charged for the qualified applicants. Programs and teaching materials will be provided for free.

入选的正式学员（含研究生、博士后及青年教师）可申请校内住宿及餐费补贴

Participants can apply for local accommodation and meals. Financial supports are competitive and provided for qualified applicants.

入选的非本地研究生（不含博士后及青年教师）可申请往返交通费补贴（硬座火车或汽车）

Non-Xiamen student participants can apply for the support of travel expenses (train or bus).

博士生学术论坛将设立优秀口头报告及墙报奖，以表彰优秀学生

For the PhD Student Forum, Best Oral & Poster Presentations will be awarded with special prizes.

活动学习结束后，将对考核合格者颁发结业证书，学校所在研究生培养单位据此认可暑期学校学分2分

A certificate and 2 credits will be awarded to participants who have successfully completed the summer school and PhD Student Forum.
