Recently, Xiamen University and Western Sydney University in Australia signed the cooperation agreement in education of doctoral students. In line with the agreement and China Scholarship Council (CSC) program, from 2015 onwards, Graduate School can recommend outstanding undergraduate and graduate students to Western Sydney University for a doctoral study, which will enroll 10 students of Xiamen University at most in accordance with its standard. Western Sydney University will provide enrolled students with tuition, and students can apply to CSC for funding for their living expenses.

Western Sydney University was established in 1989, which is one of Australia's largest comprehensive university and the first joint university in Australia. The school was consecutively granted the Australia's highest honor in college education in 2011 and 2012 - the Prime Minister Award, ranking 11 in scientific research strength among universities in Australia, its dominant disciplines covering translation, nursing, environmental law, traditional Chinese medicine, journalism, Chinese language teaching and education, etc., whose scientific research is among the best universities in  Australia.

For the school selection of the program, Graduate School will combine the annual government-funded overseas study policies to release the selection process around November.
