Doctoral Students from School of Life Sciences Coauthoring a Remarkable Paper Published on Nature

        On July 19th, the research group of Prof. Lin Shengcai published a paper titled “Fructose-1,6-bisphosphate and aldolase mediate glucose sensing by AMPK” on Nature, the world-leading academic journal. It reveals how living organisms sense the amount of glucose and how to regulate metabolism.

        The research work is mainly accomplished by a postdoctoral researcher, Zhang Chensong, and two doctoral students, Zong Yue and Li Mengqi, from School of Life Sciences and Simon Hawley, a postdoctoral researcher from University of Dundee in the UK. It is supported by University of Dundee, Dalian Institute of Chemical physics, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, CAS. Corresponding authors include Prof. Lin Shengcai and Prof. Grahame Hardie. The research is sponsored by Wellcome Trust, Cancer Research UK, National Natural Science Foundation of China and Fund of National Key R&D Programs of China.

        So far this year, 9 papers have been published by XMU doctoral students on Nature and its companions .
