Recently, an effective method to produce Ultrastable Atomic Copper Nanosheets has been developed by the research group led by Prof. Zheng Nanfeng, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, to produce selective electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide. The paper titled “Ultrastable Atomic Copper Nanosheets for Selective Electrochemical Reduction of Carbon Dioxide” was published on Science Advances (2017, 3, e1701069).

The research, led by Prof. Zheng Nanfeng, was a cooperative accomplishment joined by the research group led by Prof. Fu Gang, and Prof. Zhang Peng from Dalhousie University in Canada. The first author is Dai Lei, a doctoral student from College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Other students, like Qin Qing, a Master’s student and two Doctoral students, Wang Pei and Zhao Xiaojing, also participated in the research. It was sponsored by Ministry of Science and technology and National Natural Science Foundation of China. The test of X- ray absorption spectroscopy was conducted in the BL14W1 Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility.
