“Tip60-mediated lipin 1 acetylation and ER translocation determine triacylglycerol synthesis rate”, a research paper by Prof. Lin Shengcai’s research group in the XMU School of Life Sciences, was recently published online in “Nature Communications”.

The research elucidates the first pathway of fat synthesis regulated by protein acetylation modification, and revealed another important biological function of TIP60 in addition to the classical transcriptional regulators. It provides a new drug target for the prevention and treatment of obesity and related metabolic disorders.

Postdoctoral fellow Yang Li, PhD candidate Lintao Song, and master’s degree candidate Yu Sun are the three co-first authors of the paper. The research was sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National key Research and Development Program of China.
