“Photo-generated dinuclear {Eu(II)}2 active sites for selective CO2 reduction in a photosensitizing metal-organic framework”, a paper the presents the groundbreaking research of Prof. Xiangjian Kong’s and Prof. Lasheng Long’s research group in the XMU College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, was published recently in “Nature Communications” (2018, 9, 3353).

The research was completed by PhD candidate Zhihao Yan, with part of the characterization work undertaken by PhD candidate Minghao Du. The characterization of transient spectra for the research was completed with the assistance of Shengye Jin, a research fellow in the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dr. Junxue Liu at the same institute. Data analysis was completed with much help from Prof. Cheng Wang of the XMU College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Theoretical computations were completed by Associate Professor of Guilin Zhuang of the Zhejiang University of Technology.

The research was sponsored by the Ministry of Science and Technology (Project Approval No. 2014CB845601), the National Natural Science Foundation of China (Project Approval Nos. 21422106, 21673184, 21431005, 21721001 and 21390391), and the Ministry of Education’s Fok Ying Tung Foundation for Young Faculty (Project Approval No. 151013).
