On May 8th, the research group led by
Zhou Dawang and Chen Lanfen, professors with Innovation Center for Cell
Signaling Network, State Key Laboratory of Cellular Stress Biology and School
of Life Sciences, XMU, published a paper on Caner Cell, a world-leading
journal on cancer research, titled “Hippo Signaling Suppresses Cell Ploidy and
Tumorigenesis through Skp2”.
Researchers found out that Hippo signaling played a
key role in suppressing cell ploid, and this mechanism may result in genomic
instability and thus cause tumorigenesis.
The paper was mainly composed by doctoral students,
Zhang Shihao, Chen Qinghua, Liu Qingxu, Li Yuxi and Sun Xiufeng, with the
support of Institute of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, CAS, Albert Einstein
College of Medicine in the US and Kyushu University in Japan. Corresponding
authors are Prof. Zhou Dawang and Prof. Chen Lanfen.
