On October, 6, 2015, Li Yuanyue, PhD student of School of
Life Sciences, Xiamen University published a paper on Nature Methods entitled
“Group-DIA: analyzing multiple data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry
data files”.
Discovery
proteomics has limited quantification capabilities because of stochastic
precursor-ion selection. Several data-independent acquisition (DIA) methods
have been proposed to overcome this limitation, including the sequential-window
acquisition of all theoretical mass spectra (SWATH-MS).
The research team developed a SWATH
data-processing software named Group-DIA, which is working as well as
DIA-Umpire, while 30-50% better in stochastic precursor-ion. This software
could promote the application of SWATH-MS to bio-research and offer a good
approach for future studies.
Li Yuanyue, PhD student and Zhong Chuanqi,
post-PhD candidate in the research team led by Prof. Han Jiahuai undertake the
major research work.
